Deep Cove Woodland Residence

A complete transformation of the relationship of home to street, with an elegantly tiered garden and layered retaining wall that creates a welcoming path from curbside to front façade. A combination of strong structural concrete elements and free profusions of growth combine for a balance of control and organic movement.

The graphic forms and patterns in the front yard design are inspired by Brazilian designer Roberto Burle Marx. Extended decks on the front and back of the home create a living stage for natural serenity.
A soft transition from the landscape to the sensitive woodland ravine beyond was imperative – an outdoor seating area perched above the running stream, and plantings blend seamlessly into the landscape.
