Drummond Drive Estate
While the home on this acreage on the esteemed Drummond Drive in Point Grey has been redeveloped into a beautiful Scandinavian-inspired home for its future family, the desire was to mainly renovate the existing landscape in a sustainable manner. As they say, the site had good bones with its mature trees, concrete pool and tennis court, and large circular driveway at the stately entrance – though all features and the soft landscaping require upgrades and a new sustainable identity for this active family.
The largely naturalized site and existing features are the blueprint for this renovation.
A transition between rough and smooth basalt, as well as modern design contrasting with curved lines were key inspirations for the design.
The large site contains many characters of plants, from the low-maintenance meadow gardens and green roof to the lush, large-textured plants on the patios.
Model shots for the rear of the property demonstrate the large entertainment areas, casita, renovated sport court, and the large areas of pollinator meadows.
