Steveston Coastal Home
A busy family yearns for an oasis that acts as an extension of their Westcoast contemporary-style home. A client acutely tuned-in to what their dream space entails, the design incorporates a colour palette inspired by local seascapes and the four elements – earth, water, fire, and air. The space is to be primarily designed for entertaining, though merged with areas of escape and serenity.
With the palette of the rugged west coast always in mind, a teal-accented long pool inspires the contemporary design. Salvaged driftwood logs (actual logs pictured above) will become a vertical artform that anchors the landscape.
Renditions of the design are staked out on site to ascertain the perfect layout.
Sun-soaked grasses and lush, shade-loving perennials echo a natural west coast landscape.
Tile and trim unite the angular design, complete with silvered decking that appears to float on water, and a fresh-air shower.
